Before founding Strategic Marketing, Murphy spent much of his career in broadcasting, gaining experience in promotion, advertising, station operation, commercial production, and programming. During this time, he produced thousands of commercials and placed millions of dollars in advertising on behalf of radio and television stations. This experience gave him insight into the relationships between client and agency, and how he wanted to change them.
Leaving the broadcast world behind, Terry founded Strategic Marketing in 1992 and began putting his skills to work directly for clients. His past experiences in the media and broadcasting world drove him to change the definition of the client relationship, developing them into true partnerships, with client growth determining the agency’s successes. Terry’s philosophy of “Spend the client’s money like it’s our own and treat the client’s business like it’s our business,” has set the tone for the way we approach everything we do, dating back to the inception of Strategic Marketing. His 30 years in the industry have provided solid leadership to his team as well as access to strategic oversight, planning, and media relations.
